From here, we can manage existing bins, add new bins, manage bin zones, etc.

Types of Bins:

Pick: Standard location where warehouse users take stock from.

Storage: Storage location, often less accessible than picking locations and for holding bulk stock. You can also pick from these locations.

Tote: used by picker to transfer items from Picking to fulfilment. Also allows the WMS app to scan the bin and see the stage it is up to in the Picking process (PCK).

Ship: shipping area (eg. for holding stock, used for FBA, ready for transfers). Stock in a ‘Ship’ Bin is reserved.

Receiving: For receiving stock, often it’s useful to receive into one area, then decant your stock into specific locations at a later time.

Bin Priority

This number dictates what bin TradePeg will suggest the picker goes to, if multiple bins have sufficient stock.

The lower the number, the higher the priority. For example, Bin A (Priority 1), and Bin B (Priority 100), both have sufficient stock to fulfil an order. TradePeg will suggest the picker goes to Bin A.

Of course, if a bin with a high priority does not have sufficient stock, it will not be suggested.

Bin Zones:

Bin Zones are used to further segment your Warehouse, by providing custom classes eg. Long Storage, Pallet storage, etc. They are also used to inform your Replenishment report (Report Centre).

Bin locations which have a priority falling within the range, will be considered a part of that Bin Zone.

For example, Bin A has priority 1, Bin B has priority 11. If the Zone has a priority range 0-10 then it will include Bin A, but not Bin B
